Ana Santos is a Frederick Douglass Distinguished Scholar at American University pursuing a BA in International Studies. She has a strong interest in communications, international affairs, and photojournalism and believes in using the power of a photo to inspire social change. Ana hopes to fuse her passion for travel, photography, and social issues into an exceptional career.
At American University, Ana was Photo Editor for the Eagle, AU’s student newspaper, and photographs important events and breaking news. She also is the coordinator for the FDDS Hope for the Holidays book drive that donates books to underprivileged children in the district. Aside from academics, Ana has also interned for the National Geographic Image Collection and FotoDC and volunteered for Women for Women International.
She now lives in Washington, DC and is an intern for the National Geographic Traveler Magazine.
